Eng. Somaya Elshafei is a strategic leader in medical tourism, international conferences, and cross-border partnerships, with more than 20 years of experience managing regional and international events, healthcare initiatives, and global collaboration platforms.

She is the Founder of TravMed LLC, a tourism company specialized in organizing medical travel programs for patients inside and outside Egypt, in addition to diversified tourism programs. She is also the Founder of the TravMed Medical Tourism Platform, which provides integrated solutions supporting international patients throughout their treatment journey—from consultation to recovery.

Eng. Elshafei is also the Founder and Managing Director of BoosterBees, a company specialized in conference and event management, promotion, and media production, delivering strategic event solutions particularly within the healthcare and institutional sectors. She additionally founded Medescape, a company specialized in medical tourism services.

Throughout her career, she has contributed to organizing major regional and international conferences and has worked as a consultant within international cooperation programs in collaboration with organizations including EBRD, USAID, and GIZ.

She serves as a Steering Committee Member of Business Women of Egypt 21 (BWE21) and is a Global Goodwill Ambassador with ALL Ladies League and the Women Economic Forum, supporting international cooperation, entrepreneurship development, and women’s empowerment initiatives.

Eng. Elshafei holds a Diploma in Marketing & Advertising from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a Master’s degree in Social Media & Digital Marketing (Google & Facebook tools). She is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of South Wales (UK), in addition to Entrepreneurship studies at the American University in Cairo.

She received the WinTRADE Global Award (United Kingdom) in International Business (2020), as well as the Global Chamber of Commerce Award, in recognition of her contributions to international collaboration, conference management, and medical tourism development.

She also serves as President of the Egypt–India Business Council at the Global Chamber of Commerce & Industry, supporting bilateral cooperation and expanding economic and investment partnerships between Egypt and India.
