The General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation is an
independent authority (GAHAR) was created in 2018, which was founded under
the auspices of President Abdelfattah El Sisi and directly reports to his Excellency
committed to achieving its goals that are derived from Egypt’s strategic vision 2030.
GAHAR works to developing standards and regulations for healthcare quality, setting
the standards for quality of healthcare services, according to which healthcare facilities
will be accredited. GAHAR also supervises and regulates all healthcare facilities and
their working forces, while developing and implementing a system to ensure the
integrity and transparency of activities as well as compliance with regulations. GAHAR
has a vision of commitment and excellence. GAHAR also optimizes the health sector to
ensure preserving the rights of all health sector customers.
