March 2025: Networking and Digital Innovation
The year began with a focus on both traditional networking and digital advancement.
- Annual Ramadan Sohour: On March 2025 ,18, BWE21 hosted its annual gathering at the Automobile Club, providing a festive atmosphere for members to exchange insights and strengthen connections.
- Export Opportunities: BWE21 met with the CBI (Centre for the Promotion of Imports) from the Netherlands to explore export coaching and capacity-building programs for members looking to enter European markets.
- Digital Empowerment: Collaboration began with GIZ to develop the «BWE 21 Export» mobile application, designed to provide digital innovation, business insights, and a service provider directory for female entrepreneurs.
- Global Presence: BWE21 announced that Dr. Youmna and Mrs. Manal Amin would represent the
organization at the FCEM conference in Madagascar.
May 2025: Recognition and Strategic Forums
May highlighted the individual achievements of leadership and organized large-scale knowledge-sharing events.
- Women of Impact 2025: BWE21 leaders Yomna El Sheridy, Bassant Helmi, and Manal Amin were celebrated as «Women of Impact 2025» in Egypt for their roles in industry transformation.
- MSMEDA Forum: A successful forum titled «Empowering Businesswomen in Export and Access to Global Markets» was held at MSMEDA headquarters, covering topics from agricultural support to financing solutions.
- GIZ Conference: Dr. Yomna El Sheridy shared insights at the “Women Powering Economies” conference in Cairo, focusing on advancing women in trade and export markets.
- PUM Partnership: BWE21 announced a new partnership with PUM (Netherlands) to provide expert advicemand workshops for members in the services sector.
June 2025: Strengthening International Ties
Activities in June focused on technical assistance and preparing for major international congresses.
- PUM Collaboration Event: A services agencies event was hosted at La Maison Treize to foster technical assistance and capacity-building.
- FCEM Greece Preparations: A BWE21 delegation prepared for the FCEM World Congress in Greece, a key opportunity for global networking.
- WFS 2026 Kick-off: Steering Committee meetings officially began for the 11th Women for Success
(WFS) Conference 2026, which will host the FCEM World Congress in Egypt for the first time.
July 2025: Leadership Milestones and New Faces
July was a month of historic achievements and welcoming new talent.
- WFS 2026 Announcement: Egypt was officially selected to host the prestigious 2026 FCEM Annual
Conference (April 25–19) in Cairo and Alexandria. - Continental Leadership: Yomna El Sheridy was elected to the Board of CONWOBAA (Continental Network for Women Business Associations in Africa) representing North Africa.
- New Members: BWE21 welcomed new changemakers, including Abeer El-Leithy (Co-founder of MOMKEN) and Heba Nerhal (Deputy CEO at Momken for Her).
- Success Stories: Consultant Mervat Gabal shared her career journey with GUC students, highlighting
professional transformation within the network.
August & September 2025: Advocacy and Agribusiness
The third quarter saw strong advocacy for exporters and the launch of specialized programs
- Policy Advocacy: Dr. Yomna El Sheridy publicly criticized the complexity of Egypt’s export subsidy system, calling for digital integration and government-private sector dialogue.
- WiB Agri Cohort 2: The Women in Business Agri Africa Program launched its second cohort on September 22, focusing on taking Egyptian agribusiness to the next level.
- SheTrades Egypt: BWE21 participated in the launch of the second phase of “SheTrades Egypt,”
exploring how AI can enhance the competitiveness of women-owned SMEs.
October 2025: Global Representation and Local Impact
The year concluded with a focus on global exhibitions and industrial localization
- Anuga FoodTec 2025: Dr. Yomna El Sheridy represented BWE21 and Egyptian exports at this major global exhibition in Cologne, Germany.
- Localizing Industry: BWE21 highlighted government efforts to localize manufacturing and attract foreign investment through its «Noon Cast» coverage.
- FCEM 2026 Registration: Official registration opened for the 2026 Global Women Leaders Congress in Cairo, finalizing the agenda for the landmark event.
