The Women’s Investment Club (WIC) is an association dedicated to providing women in West Africa with privileged access to innovative economic and financing mechanisms. Its goal is to promote inclusive economic development across the continent. Founded in 2016 as a direct response to the financing challenges faced by women-led businesses in Senegal, WIC aims to develop innovative financing mechanisms for businesses created and/or led by women; promote women’s leadership and entrepreneurship in Africa; and encourage and equip African women to actively participate in economic development. To achieve this, WIC has established three mechanisms that work collaboratively to support women entrepreneurs from multiple angles: the Investment Club (WIC), the Investment Fund (WIC Capital) and the Technical Assistance (WIC Academy).

Astou is the President of the Women’s Investment Club Senegal.
